A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a typographical error. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk emails, but this problem can be resolved by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also vital to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Web Hosting
Creating a catch-all email mailbox will be extremely easy if you have a cloud web hosting service with us. You can enable this feature through our advanced, yet user-friendly Email Manager, which is an indivisible part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage your shared hosting account. You’ll see all the email addresses that you have created shown alphabetically and on the right side of each one of them there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly inform you if a certain mailbox stores all the emails associated with a given domain or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this feature whenever you want. If there is active email forwarding or if another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a certain domain name, you’ll receive a warning notice from our system. The latter won’t replace/deactivate anything automatically or without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all feature can be activated with ease in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will see a small symbol conveniently situated right next to each of them. With only one mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this feature using the menu that will show up. In case any of the preconditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will notify you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
